What's in a name? That which we call a rose.

I just got back from a girls night and I decided to put on make up just to experiment with new colour combinations with the existing colours I have. So I checked out a couple of tutorials from one of my favourite youtuber and decided on a Sultry Rose Look by xteener.

So based on her tutorial, I slowly made use of the colours I had and got this result!

You can see a little pink at the inner corner of my eye

My eyelids!

Instead of using the eyeshadow wash as used in the video, I used my Stila lipglaze in a light pink-ish colour. Since the colour didn't really come out, it acted as a primer. I didn't have a light pink eyeshadow, so I decided to replace it with my Cyber Colours Mineral Blusher in Peach. For the grey, I used one of the matt grey colour from Maybelline Eyestudio in New York Night. I used the highlighter from Maybelline on my brow bone.

For the cheeks, I used my Cyber Colours mineral blusher again and for the lips, my ELF lipstick in Nicely Nude.

The overall look (though you can't see the eyes)

Those were the stuff I used for this look replacing those items on the tutorial. Though mine didn't look as subtle as xteener's, I thought it was a pretty good first attempt. Practice does make perfect, so that's the future.

To my readers, I'm so sorry if it has been really girly stuff lately. I'm just experimenting with make up these days since I got bored over the summer holidays and I'm falling in love with make up now. If some of you like it, well, there's more coming as I'm not quite done yet with my experiments. Most of the make up tutorials are from American youtubers who have access to affordable make up. And I constantly feel that I need to buy what they are using to achieve the look the made on the video, and make up over in Malaysia can be really pricy especially those branded ones. So here I am, sharing with you girls which products you can use which are affordable and can give you ALMOST the same results you see on video.

There will be other posts besides make up, so just keep tuning in! Oh one a completely different topic, I have only come with two new year resolutions. One, to get all Distinctions in my first semester in Melbourne Uni. Two, to save as much money as possible to pay for part of my ticket back to Malaysia. Yeap, that's all I got so far.

Haulidays

Hey guys! Remember when I mentioned about buying a few make up products from Eyes Lip Face (ELF) I bought online. Well, I FINALLY received it about a week ago. I waited patiently for about 2 months and I got impatient after another month of waiting and when I finally got fed up and wanted a refund, the seller told me my products were on the way to my doorstep. So since then, I've been testing them out and here's a review!

ELF Eyeliner brush, Bronzing brush, Smudge brush, Lipstick and Falsies

ELF Bronzing brush

The Bronzing Brush can also be doubled as a blush brush or basically for any loose powders. I bought this for RM12. And what I can say is, the bristles are really rough on my skin. I didn't like the feeling of it on my skin actually but it did do a great job on the blush application. The angled bristles helped in easy application, but like I said, it felt really rough. I wouldn't recommend this brush as I reckon there are better blush brushes out there.

ELF Smudge brush

My very first Smudge brush. I've been wanting to achieve a smoky eye look with a kohl pencil and I believe I have found a way with a little help of black eyeshadow. The Kohl pencil I used with the smudge brush was from Cyber Colours in Black. Though the brush is small, it was easy on my eyelids as I didn't need to put much pressure. It smoothen out the thick lines I made with the Kohl pencil really well. The brush did its job and I am clearly, satisfied with it. Only RM12, and perfectly worth it, that's my verdict!

ELF Eyeliner brush
I haven't tried putting on eyeliner with this brush yet as I don't use Gel liners but I'm planning out to smoothen out my pencil eyeliner with this. I'll get back to you girls with this. But so far, the bristles feel really soft. I hope it's kind on my eyelids.

ELF Lipstick in Nicely Nude

I initially wanted a nude lipstick, but it turns out this is a much better choice. It's slightly pink and the colour is really subtle on the lips. Most of the time when I choose a pinkish lipstick, I would look very, Barbie. It would just shift the attention from my other make up to the horrible colour on my lip. But this, this is just perfect! I don't wear much lipstick but this is definitely my current favourite!

BEFORE I applied Nicely Nude

AFTER I applied Nicely nude

Its colour doesn't pop out as much but it just brings out a little more colour to the lips. Just perfect like I said. And neither is it too sticky nor too dry, just right, in my opinion. Get it if you can. RM29 and I'm not regretting it at all!

I haven't used the ELF Falsies yet. When I do, I'll let you guys now about it!

Also, I bought a couple of other stuff last year. Actually last month, but you know, it's fun to say you did something last year when it's the new year. Don't mind me, I'm easily amused by these things. So this post is more like a make up haul.

Empro Black Diamond Liner

I started off using a pencil liner and now that I'm more confident with liquid, I decided to upgrade with this marker type. The sales assistant told me this was a best-seller product so I decided what the heck, may as well buy it since most people are. And I have never looked back ever since. With its sharp, felt tip, fine lines are easy as ever and it's smooth to glide on the eyelids! To make it really black, I had to use pencil liner first then go over it with this. The best thing is, it's suitable for long wearing. It doesn't chip when you go over and over its layers and it's just really effortless to use. RM 43.80 and it's worth ever single cent!

MAC Sea and Sky
The only reason why I splurged so much on an eyeshadow was because it was the perfect colour I was looking for when I wanted to match my electric blue dress for an event. And come on, you have to admit, it is really purrty.

Though, I found it a real trouble to bring out the colour at first. And I accidentally discovered how. I washed my brush and it didn't dry and I went ahead to use it and surprise, surprise, the colour was just amazing! Sky was a perfect compliment with Sea as both of them were wonderful when blended in together. RM85, a little pricy but I was desperate and you CANNOT complain that it IS MAC.

Well, that's all for now. I know I'm a little late on new year's resolutions but I'm still working on it! If you girls tried any of these products, do let me know what you think! Off to search for more make up!
