It goes on

May as well begin with an apology to my readers for not updating as much as I hoped and would. My faithful MacBook has crashed during my exam period and I had no means of updating my blog besides my iPhone which is honestly difficult when it comes to uploading pictures. So anyway, I'm back in the blogging atmosphere and do forgive me if I don't have the writing flair~

The last you guys heard from me was Oct, which I went to see Paramore!!!! I had the most awesome time ever, screaming my lungs out and head banging till I was lightheaded.

Hayley has the most awesome voice
That night was also Julius's first concert (and what better concert to relieve him of his concert-virginity than Paramore?) and I'm proud to give him that opportunity before I leave.

I was ready to eat someone's brains by the end of the exams
Exams came soon after and let's just skip this whole part out. We don't need to know how struggling it was for all of the students to go through this exam as if their future depends on it. No, actually, our future did depend on those exam results.

Also, I got a job! I worked in Promod and Elle at One Utama. It was a part-time sales assistant post. I started a week after my last paper ended thinking I could kill time and earn some extra money instead of lazing around the house. Well, I did that, including killing my social life, my feet, cravings for food due to how calculative I became counting every meal based on the hours I had to work, and especially killing my love for my favourite mall. Working is not as easy as it seems. You might think that standing for 8 hours while you get to look at pretty clothes is simple. God, I was SO wrong about that.

My feet died at the end of my first day. My feet continued to hurt through the week. My feet then got swollen at one point and I had to ask my maid to massage it and trust me it was NOT comfortable. That's only the beginning. When I applied for the job, Mandarin or Cantonese was NOT stated as a requirement! It may as well be a requirement because most of my co-workers communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin and the worst part was CUSTOMERS SPOKE TO ME IN CANTONESE OR MANDARIN. I don't have anything against the dialect or the language, it's just that I was caught off guard thinking that customers would at least speak in English and though I know a little Mandarin and I understand very very simple Cantonese, I'm not fluent in them and I know nothing of clothing terms in any of those two language and dialect. I spent my entire time speaking in layman Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia to my co-workers and customers. I swear I've never used so much BM and Mandarin so much, constantly day by day, in my life.

The worse part is, there are customers who are such a pain in the ass when you tell them you don't understand what they are saying and they give you a condescending look as if you're not Chinese. Charlene joined in after a week I did and she suffered the same thing I did. She got worse though, one customer bitched in front of her thinking she didn't understand much. The customer told her friend in Mandarin of course, "What kind of girl is she? Isn't she Chinese? Doesn't she know to speak her own mother tongue?". You had no idea how angry Charlene was. Common, I would be angry if I heard that and honestly I would have done something about it. At least we can get a better future with English alright bitch? So what if we can't speak it fluently? There's no reason for you to look down on us.

There are also customers who do look down on us young part-timers. They think we're uneducated, drop-outs and et cetera et cetera. Well, excuse me, we're just mainly on holiday and we have nothing else to do but just gain some experience on a job like this. Unlike you, parading your fake Louis Vuitton bag (so obvious that the cuttings weren't symmetrical at all), showing off to your friends that you bought it for $5000, spending your money in Elle. Common, if you're that rich, you wouldn't be spending your time or money in Elle at all. You would be in Bebe or in Bimba and Lola or Polo. Customers do look down, thinking we're uneducated and they are pretty rude to us. They purposely ask you, why are you working and aren't you in school anymore. Of course, you defend yourself by saying that you have nothing better to do at home since your university is on break and you'll flying overseas next year to extend your studies. EAT THAT BITCHES!

I will never forget, passing my time talking to one hour with Charlene about our excuses to skip work and give our reasons to quit our jobs while we fold clothes in the wagon. Folding underwear is so sad I must admit but hey, it did pass my time. Ironing clothes was our best friend in Promod. The thing about Promod was the staff were much friendlier to me, I had different things to do such as writing reports, stock count and pricing the new stock and ALL THE PRETTY CLOTHES!!!!! I bought two tops during my job and I bought more stuff after that during the sale which is on going now.

I quit my job after 3 weeks. Well, 3 weeks wasn't as bad as some people who came in after I did, they quit after a day. I did learn quite a lot of things during this experience. The most important thing was to treat the sales assistant with respect and trust me, they are more than willing to help you out. And the only reason sometimes why you find them following you around the shop is because they are bored.

I bought this darling skirt from Promod. Lovely ain't it?
Bangkok family trip came up and I bought so many cute things! A clock which is superbly funny! A few tees, necklaces, bangles and make up brushes. And most importantly souvenirs. I am going to Bangkok again next year with friends and hopefully the boyfriend as well. =)

How can anyone not find this funny?

Birthdays came up and Christmas came. It was honestly one of the best weeks I've had in this month. Julius's birthday was lovely as we indulged in Spanish food. Christmas party was good too as I got to spend time with Julius's extended family and of course eat to my heart's content.

After awhile, you do get crazy =)
Christmas gathering with my family!

Malacca trip with Julius and his extended family! The supposedly food trip didn't start until we got back to KL. Nevertheless, we still did have a little fun!

Frog sounds!!
The Malacca river!
So I've quit my job, been spending a lot of time with the boyfriend ever since he got back for his winter break and just lazing around after that. 2011 is going to change everything though. I've been accepted to Melbourne Univeristy and I'm amazingly happy and proud of myself for achieving this. I have been preparing myself to leave. Ticket has been booked and I'm leaving on the 13th of February, missing Valentine's Day. Oh well. Everyday's Valentine's Day with the boyfriend when I'm with him. Loads more to do for preparation especially the clothes I'm bringing.

That's pretty much what I've been doing while I was MIA from my blog. The next post is coming up soon! Make up reviews and 2011 resolutions.

Toodles with love,
